A Matter of Time

Why does time so often feel so oppressive? And did it always have to be this way? Part history lesson, part cabaret show, and part heart-rending personal quest, ‘A Matter of Time’ is an attempt to come to terms with a world in which the clock is always ticking. The debut solo show from Anjali Singh.

Featuring songs! Fun history facts! ‘Hamilton’ references! And silliness!

★★★★ “Special…. Singh is a versatile performer, with a voice to be heard. Do not miss it.” Broadway Baby

Pigeons and Plantain, written and directed by Afia Nkrumah, reimagines traditional West African myth and culture through the story of a troubled teenager and her extraordinary aunt. This is a script-in-hand performance which is followed by a Q&A that examines and celebrates Black women centred storytelling in Black History Month 2021.

TV and theatre writer and director Afia Nkrumah’s recent credits include Call The Midwife (BBC) and Coronation Street (ITV).

“A wonderful premiere for the Watford Fringe” (The Dial Up Review, on our 2020 performance of How to Space by Anna Reynolds)

Spaces

Spaces is an anthology of audio plays where each immersive story draws you into a different audio location. Born from a world in lockdown, many of the plays deal with themes of isolation and connection. Exploring ordinary spaces – a toilet cubicle, a car, a bath, a corridor, IKEA – each short play invites you to enjoy extraordinary and intimate stories.
Written by emerging script writers in an experimental and exploratory workshop convention, the project aimed to use sound and performance to bring theatre to remote audiences. The plays reflect the wonderful breadth of what audio theatre has to offer.
Your ticket purchase provides access to the full collection of audio plays and you can access them anytime up to 5th October

One woman show, Carlotta De Galleon ~ A Fool for Love!, is a comic, passionate romp through one feminist’s forbidden love of trashy novels.
