Rohan returns to the Watford Fringe after a successful run of performances last year! This brand-new show is framed around his childhood diary, Jolly, which he started after being diagnosed with autism. Rohan explores his development from being that 12-year-old kid struggling to understand himself and the world around him to now seeming like a calm, confident guy. Realistically, a lot of things still annoy him, but he just laughs at them instead of getting angry (apparently) and stand-up comedy is his new Jolly. Come along and watch an hour of controlled chaos as Rohan reflects on his past difficulties and shares some home truths about the present!
"there is a very relaxed ease to Ashar’s comedy – he performs with confidence but not arrogance and establishes a genial bond with the audience really early on that lasts throughout the whole show ... A great night of comedy" - North West Londoner, October 2023
Rohan Ashar:
I'm a 23 year old UK-based comedian, specialising in stand-up. My style of comedy is obsersavtional and autobiographical, often dealing with topics like identity and ethnicity. I use stand-up comedy as a way of understanding the world around me and deriving humour from both good and bad personal experiences!
I've previously completed 2 successful solo stand-up shows at the Watford Fringe, performed in numerous shows at the Edinburgh Fringe (including 2 runs of an improvised comedy show and a range of stand-up guest slots), and done many stand-up gigs in York and on the London circuit.
