Watford Fringe 2024 – Box Office now open for biggest festival yet!

The box office for the Watford Fringe Festival 2024 is now officially open – you can buy tickets for more than 50 performances across a whole month of great entertainment, right on your doorstep.

This is the 8th Watford Fringe – every year multiple venues host an extraordinary live line-up of great theatre, music, comedy, dance, magic and family fun-filled shows. As well as running for longer this year, the festival will also now include outdoor performance spaces for the first time.

So far, more than 50 acts have come on board with more expected to sign up by the end of May. There’s everything from pre-Edinburgh shows and returning favourites, to local talent, special youth performances, award-winning acts and premieres of new material. Whether you’re looking for opera or drag, belly laughs or emotional drama, there’s a show for you.

The Festival takes place from 1 July to 4 August. It is organised by the Watford Pump House in partnership with Watford Borough Council, Watford Palace Theatre and the Watford and Three Rivers Trust.

This year there will be 15 different performances spaces – the most the Festival has ever had. They include the Watford Pump House, Cassiobury Park Bandstand, The Garden Rooms, The Wellspring Church, St Mary’s Church, Cheslyn House, The Barn, the LP Café, Mad Squirrel and Watford Palace Theatre.

Lee Farman, chair of the Watford Pump House, said: “We’re really excited to be bringing you an extended Watford Fringe Festival this year, encompassing even more of the best culture and arts that Watford has to offer. Every year we’re growing in scale and reputation and we’re attracting more and more exciting acts.”

There’s still time to sign up as a performer. Anyone and everyone is welcome to apply, there’s no selection criteria. All you need to do is register your event online before the end of May.

And with the expectation of more performances this year, organisers need more volunteers to help run the show and make sure audiences are well looked after. Could this be you?

About the Watford Fringe Festival

The Watford Fringe Festival first took place in 2016 as a way to support the great local Watford talent to develop and perform their shows. Plus the Fringe is an accessible platform to bring high quality art to Watford for audiences to enjoy.

Every year it has grown and grown. It even carried on online during the pandemic and is going from strength to strength. The Fringe is only possible thanks to the support of the Watford Pump House, Watford Borough Council, the Watford Palace Theatre and the Watford and Three Rivers Trust as well as all the Fringe venues and the dozens of volunteers who give up their time to promote the shows and make sure audiences are so well looked after.
